The Butterfly Edition is a baby swim float for 3–24 months. It holds your baby in a steady, horizontal kicking position so you can enjoy the water together, with a removable UPF 50+ sun canopy.

Secure strap system

Straps at the shoulders, chest and between the legs hold your baby in place. Adjust them for a snug fit and check every buckle before each swim.

Nothing to inflate

The float uses a solid foam core instead of an air chamber, so there is no pump, no valves and nothing to deflate. It is ready to use as soon as it arrives.

Comfortable materials

Soft, quick-drying outer fabric that is gentle on young skin.

Sun canopy

The removable canopy uses UPF 50+ fabric with breathable mesh sides, giving shade while letting air through. It is not a substitute for sunscreen and time in the shade.

Stability tail

The detachable tail adds buoyancy at the back for a more balanced position. Keep it attached for younger babies.

Learning through play

The horizontal position lets your baby kick and splash freely, practicing the movements used in swimming while you stay face to face.

How to fit a chest float

Takes about a minute. Try it once on a dry surface first

  1. Check the sizeChest floats suit most babies from about 3 months, once they have good head control, up to 24 months. Check the weight range on this page.
  2. Open every strapUndo the shoulder straps, the chest buckle and the crotch strap.
  3. Seat your babyPlace your baby in the float with the soft chest pad at the front and one leg through each side of the crotch strap.
  4. Fasten and adjustClose the crotch strap first, then the chest buckle and shoulder straps. Adjust until snug: two fingers should just fit under each strap, and the float should not ride up when you lift gently.
  5. Add the canopy and tailClip the UPF 50+ canopy into its slots at the front and fit the stability tail at the back. Both are removable.
  6. Into the water, slowlyLower your baby into the water and keep a hand within reach at all times.
Backstroke positionBaby lies back, face up. Good for younger babies and face-to-face time.
Tummy positionBaby leans forward at about 40° to kick and paddle. Good once your baby is more active.

Questions parents ask

Everything you need to know before you order

When is my baby ready for a chest float?

Most babies are ready from about 3 months, once they have good head control, and up to 24 months. Always check the weight range shown on this page.

Does it need inflating?

No. The core is solid foam with no air chamber and no valve, so it is ready to use straight out of the box.

Back or tummy position?

Backstroke position suits younger babies and face-to-face time. Tummy position at about 40° encourages kicking. You can switch as your baby grows in confidence.

Is the sun canopy removable?

Yes. The UPF 50+ canopy clips on and off, and the stability tail can be removed too.

Can I take it on vacation?

Yes. Standard chest floats do not deflate, so pack them in your suitcase or checked luggage. If space is tight, look at our foldable and self-inflating travel models.

How do I clean it?

Rinse with fresh water after every swim, especially after chlorine or sea water, and let it dry in the shade before storing.

Is it a life-saving device?

No. It is a swimming aid for supervised use. It does not protect against drowning, so stay within arm's reach and fasten every strap before your baby goes in the water.

When will my order arrive?

Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days. Shipping is free and tracked to US addresses and usually takes 7–10 business days. You will receive a tracking link by email when it ships.

Can I return it?

Yes, you have 30 days from delivery to return your order, and floats carry a 2-year warranty. See our refund policy for how it works.
